Challenge of Durability: NIIET’s New Testing Unit Simulates Extreme Loads

NIIET (part of the Element Group, MOEX: ELMT) continues to equip its testing center with unique equipment, specifically a new shock testing unit designed to verify product resistance to single-impact mechanical loads.

These procedures are classified as mechanical testing. The tests are conducted in accordance with the requirements of Method 106-1 of GOST RV 5962-004.1.

The shock testing unit features the following technical specifications:

a) impact acceleration: ranging from 10 to 30,000 g (98.10 m/s² to 294,300 m/s²);

b) impact pulse duration: ranging from 0.05 ms to 18 ms;

c) pulse shape approximates a half-sine wave;

d) maximum product weight (including amplifier) is up to 2 kg.

The MS 200 hydraulic shock testing unit has been procured as an addition to the existing SM-110-MP pneumatic shock testing unit to facilitate testing at high impact accelerations. While the SM-110-MP operates by elevating the table with the product using compressed air, the new testing unit utilizes a hydraulic principle. For this purpose, the unit is supplied with an oil station that ensures the operation of the shock testing unit.

To monitor performance and record impacts, the system includes specialized software along with the VENZO 600 shock control system. The control software offers extensive settings for flexible pre-test configuration and in-depth post-test diagram analysis.

Advantages of the New Equipment:

    High precision in reproducing operating conditions: the testing unit allows for accurate simulation of extreme product operating environments.

    Wide range of test parameters: the equipment is capable of reproducing impacts of varying forces, enabling comprehensive testing of various types of electronic components and modules.

    Automation of testing processes: modern control systems allow for the automation of the testing process, minimizing the human factor and increasing research efficiency.

    Improvement of product quality: Through the application of the latest testing technologies, product quality significantly improves, contributing to the enterprise’s increased competitiveness in the electronics market.

Thus, the acquisition of the shock testing unit represents a vital stage in the modernization of NIIET’s testing center infrastructure, aimed at enhancing the reliability and safety of developed products.
