The results of the annual independent ‘Electronica’ awards, which recognize the top achievements in the Russian electronics industry, have been announced. The Scientific Research Institute of Electronics (NIIET, part of the Element Group, MOEX: ELMT) has been named the winner in the ‘Electronic Component Base’ category, specifically in the ‘Design and Production of Domestic ECB’ nomination.
The project involved the development and launch of mass production for four new 32-bit microcontrollers based on the open RISC-V architecture, receiving high praise from experts and the professional community:
• K1921VG1T: A dual-core microcontroller for automated process control systems and industrial systems.
• K1921VG3T: A universal energy-efficient solution featuring motor control functions.
• K1921VG5T: A universal microcontroller designed for portable systems.
• K1921VG7T: A model with a small quantity of pins.
“On behalf of the entire development team, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for this high evaluation of our work. Winning the ‘Electronica’ award for the development and serial production of our RISC-V microcontroller series is the result of the coordinated efforts of our engineers, technologists, and production specialists. They have invested their experience and energy into creating modern, reliable, and competitive solutions,” noted Pavel Kutsko, General Director of NIIET.
“We are proud that domestic development based on the open RISC-V architecture has gained professional recognition and contributed to the advancement of the Russian electronics industry. By developing the nation’s largest range of RISC-V microcontrollers, we have effectively covered the demand for the target devices and equipment components in the segment of universal microcontrollers. Our goal is to create a self-sufficient domestic ecosystem of microcontrollers based on the independent RISC-V architecture,” Kutsko added.
The Path to Victory
The ‘Electronica’ award is presented annually as part of ExpoElectronica, the largest trade fair in Russia and the CIS countries. The selection of winners is done in several stages. After the online voting that took place on March 23, 2026, finalists presented their projects to an expert jury. The final score was calculated using a formula that weighed both the opinions of independent experts and the results of public recognition. The jury assessed the nominees impartially, focusing solely on the innovation and practical significance of the developments.
The ‘Electronica’ award aims to support projects that enhance enterprise efficiency and develop the scientific potential of the industry. It serves as an independent platform for recognizing the top achievements of Russian companies, evaluating both breakthrough innovations and deeply modernized solutions.
