Microcontroller manufacturer NIIET (a member of the Element Group of Companies, MOEX: ELMT) and the Kaluga-based company Pandora, a developer of automotive electronics, have introduced the Pandora EV UCCS universal DC charging station controller featuring the Russian K1921VG015 microcontroller based on the RISC-V architecture.
The Pandora EV UCCS is an industrial programmable controller mounted on a DIN rail. The device is developed in accordance with the GOST R IEC 61131-1-2016 standard and functions as the central management node of a DC charging station. Furthermore, it coordinates the operation of key subsystems, ranging from the station’s logic and power modules to peripheral devices and communication channels with upper-level systems.
A key feature of the controller is its support for major charging standards, including CHAdeMO, ISO 15118, DIN SPEC 70121-2014 CCS Combo 2, and GB/T 27930-2015. Thanks to this, the Pandora EV UCCS ensures compatibility with a wide range of electric vehicles available on the Russian market. At the same time, the firmware-level protocol implementation guarantees stable and predictable operation of the device in real-world operating conditions.
The K1921VG015 microcontroller manufactured by NIIET became the core technological solution within the Pandora EV UCCS. Its integration allowed the company to gain several significant advantages. Specifically, the controller meets the criteria of a “Russian product” in accordance with the requirements of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 719. This means that the Pandora EV UCCS can participate in federal projects for the development of charging infrastructure, including those under Decree No. 1292, and qualify for state support measures. Furthermore, the use of a domestic microcontroller eliminated risks associated with price volatility and supply disruptions of imported components.
The successful launch of this solution made it possible to replicate it across other Pandora product lines, particularly for “All-Weather” and “Multi-Port” fast DC charging stations within Russia and the CIS countries.
