Today, October 4, our industry, which holds strategic importance for the country, unites more than 300 thousand specialists. The importance of our daily work was emphasized by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, during his address to the participants of the “Microelectronics – 2026” forum:
“I want to thank the scientists, designers, engineers, and workers from the bottom of my heart for your responsible work, which forms a solid foundation for strengthening technological sovereignty. We look forward to your constructive proposals that will allow us to provide effective answers to new challenges.”
We are rightfully proud of the Voronezh Region’s contribution to the development of domestic microelectronics. The achievements of our enterprise serve as a bright example of this work. JSC “NIIET” (part of Element Group, MOEX: ELMT) runs Russia’s only serial production of microwave and power gallium nitride (GaN) transistors. These technologies open up new opportunities for 5G and 6G networks, robotics, mechanical engineering, medicine, and are also critically important for the aerospace industry, electric transport, energy-efficient data centers, and alternative energy. Concurrently, we have mastered the production of LDMOS transistors for digital television broadcasting and created our own “SIT” test benches for verifying semiconductors under ultimate loads.
But the main foundation of technological leadership is people. Thanks to the partnership with the Advanced Engineering School of VSU, the specialized departments of VSTU, and the base department of VSFTU, an end-to-end environment for training a new generation of engineers has been established. Over the past two years, 840 students have completed practical training at NIIET, and they are the ones who will have to solve the applied problems of tomorrow.
